Product description

Replica of the SA-C23 CORE™ carbine

Specna Arms meeting customers' expectations presents the CORE™  line - a unique series of replicas that introduces a new quality on the market. Atractive price  combined with innovative spring replacement system and high quality materials makes this series for both beginners and seasoned airsoft players.

The body, the slide along with the battery housing of the enlarged SF-type flask as well as the pistol grip are manufactured from nylon fibre-reinforced polymer plastic. Other components such as e.g. barrel, RIS front, flame suppressor, enlarged reloading handle and tactical suspension assembly have been made of metal (all screws, pins, shell ejection window and dummy lock are made of steel). Markings and serial number have been applied on the barrel.

The rifle has been very well-fitted the user will not experience any play between the lower and upper parts of the body. The use of a body made of lightweight plastic allowed for a reduction in weight, making it ideal for dynamic games or long milslims. What's more, the fibreglass reinforcement also makes the body more durable than polymer and metal bodies.

The replica uses the quick-change spring system, ESA™. This allows quick and efficient adjustment of the replica's power to the conditions expected on the field of play without the need to have access to a workshop or a number of specialised tools - simply unscrew the flask guide to reveal access to exchange the spring without having to pull out or disassemble the gearbox.

The advantages of the system ESA™ are difficult to overestimate. In the light of the arrangements that exist within the environments themselves, this system guarantees the user considerable possibilities and a great deal of freedom. The system ESA™ allows with a minimum of time to replace the mainspring and thus to adapt the replica's discharge velocity to the area of play so as to guarantee the ideal compromise between the effectiveness of the firing and the safety of oneself and other players.

The replica has been fully adapted for use with battery types LiPo and LiFe. With a base initial discharge velocity of around ~380 FPS guaranteed by the factory-installed mainspring, the replica is perfectly suited for medium range operations. A M90-type spring is also included, which allows the initial velocity to be reduced to ~310 FPS  making the replica perfectly suited for short-range or indoor operations.

Gearbox conceals 8-millimetre slide bearings and the supported steel gearsset on them. The system is secured by four anti-reverse pawls. The lightweight, polycarbonate plastic piston is provided with a full steel bar increasing its strength. It also uses a steel interrupter, as well as a precision rotary hop-up chamber. The strength of the parts allows it to work with M140 springs.

The finely crafted Rotary Hop-Up chamber  perfectly complements the high quality 6.03mm precision barrel. The use of a precision barrel has a positive effect on the range and accuracy of the replica. It is important to remember to use high-quality 6mm ammunition.

The replica has been equipped with a front rail M-LOK  and an adjustable buttstock. A folding sight has been fitted on the upper RIS rail, which does not interfere with optoelectronic aiming devices. Thanks to the extendable buttstock finished with a foot with an anti-slip texture, it is possible to adjust the length of the replica to the build and preferences of the shooter. The standard flame suppressor is mounted on a 14-mm left-hand thread, which makes it possible to attach a sound suppressor in its place.

Battery included

NiCd rechargeable battery is characterized by high efficiency current-carrying capacity, but there are disruptive effect on memory. Should be unloaded and loaded in the full cycle, ie, it is recommended to fully discharge, and after unloading must charge the battery immediately without leaving it for a long time in a discharged state.
NiMH batteries have a higher self-discharge over time and shorten the life - on the other hand, they earn about 30% more capacity.

Blow Back

Blow back is a simulation system of the cocking lever - it imitates the work of it as the equivalent sharp. This system raises the realism and adds a lot more experience during shooting.

Great external build quality but the stock hop-up leaves a lot to be desired. tl;dr Pros: + Sturdy build quality + No wobble or flex + Metal handguard + "Quick change spring system" (takes a couple of minutes which isn't bad) + Metal parts are very smooth and nicely machined + Lightweight Cons: - Hop-up was defective on mine causing embarrassing range - Included M90 spring was a bit weaker than expected. - Ended up spending another £40+ on replacement parts - Accuracy is subpar Now for my rambling: I bought this with a nice big discount for a friend so he would finally have his own pew pew and no longer need to borrow one of mine all the time. I wanted to get him a G&G CM16 but I couldn't find any in stock in the UK or overseas that didn't charge a fortune. However I saw this for £80 (about £50-£60 cheaper than anywhere in the UK) and I've bought from Gunfire twice before with no problems so decided to take the gamble. Out of the box the build quality is great. I wouldn't say the polymer is as sturdy feeling as the G&G CM series but its very close. The metal handguard of the Specna Arms makes it all the more worth it than the G&G's in my opinion. The only wobble is in the crane stock and the magazine inside the magwell. That's nothing a bit of electricians tape can't fix ;) Unfortunately that's where the pro's ended at first. I was getting 130FPS-180FPS on average with very occasional jumps to the low 200's, and the range was so bad I was angling it like a mortar launcher just to reach the end of my garden. (Pretty sure my little cousin had a translucent 1911 that ran on AA batteries 10 years ago that had more power and range than this). And that was with the stock M110 spring installed. too I figured it might have been defective and needed to replace it anyway so I put in the (included in box) M90 spring but it made absolutely no difference at all. Turns out the hop-up was the issue. Im gonna assume this was just bad luck on my part because I've heard and seen good things from Specna Arms Core series of guns before so I must have gotten the s**t end of the quality control stick. I tried to replace the rubber with the old school G&G Green cold weather but it was too thick to even fit in the flimsy blue rotary hop-up housing these low end Specna Arms m4's come with. In the end I ended up buying a Prometheus purple rubber and a Maple Leaf OMEGA Nub from a retailer here in the UK. NOW the gun was firing nice and smooth and was having no trouble's with range, however with the M90 spring installed the power was a bit too low, about 280FPS on .20g bb's which I knew just wouldn't cut it. So I did another order and picked up an ASG M105 spring which brought it up to a comfortable 330FPS with hop-up applied. At last the gun is useable, and not just useable, its dare I say, pretty good. Besides replacing the hop-up unit with a metal unit in the future, the only other thing I might upgrade is the inner barrel, as its a lightweight aluminium thing and its supposedly 'tightbore' but the accuracy isn't amazing. Thankfully my friends more of a high-cap mag and 10 round burst kind of guy so the inaccuracy won't bother him. In the end, after being shafted with customs (not Specna Arms or Gunfire's fault, I know) and having to buy the nub, and rubber, and then a spring separately with extra postage costs (had to use other courier due Royal Mail strikes here in the UK) I spent about £145 on getting this gun running nicely. At least its new owner is happy.
